The Commitments // Reunion tour

I have to admit, I kind of want to go to this.
I loved the movie when I was growing up (still regret never getting my DVD back off a mate) and, despite the limitless potential for this to be tacky as hell, I’d be willing to overlook it because the music has just never gotten old. It’s actually amazing they managed to put together a cast who were great musicians as well as actors and, holy shit, Andrew Strong’s voice.
I mean, just look at this:
Strong is now a baldy, which only serves to make him look even more like a cuddly baby, and Robert Arkins actually looks slightly younger than he did in the film. The only thing this could potentially be better is if Colm Meaney were to be stood by the side of the stage screaming “Elvis wasn’t a cajun! That’s blasphemy, that is.” Here’s hoping.
